How Did Darth Vader And Starkiller Create The Rebel Alliance?

The Rebel Alliance were the courageous defenders of freedom, vehemently opposed to the Empire and the Sith. However in Legends, their official formation was in large part due to Vader and his apprentice, Starkiller. Vader wished to lure the various rebel groups to one place so that he could destroy them. Vader lied to his secret apprentice that he wished to unite the rebels to distract and overthrow the Emperor, Starkiller was sent to plunge the galaxy into civil war. After meeting with the reluctant rebels, Starkiller downed a star destroyer, inspiring them into open rebellion. However, the empire captured the rebel leaders and Vader revealed to Starkiller his true intentions. After Vader left his apprentice for dead, Starkiller renounced the Sith, inflitrating the Death Star to rescue the rebels. After briefly being tempted by the Emperor's offer to replace Vader, Starkiller sacraficed himself in order for the rebel leaders to escape. In his death, the rebellion was proclaimed, with the rebels adopting an emblem that was inspired by Starkillers family crest.
